Thorson dropped just three games in two straight-set wins at No. 3 and No. 2 singles as UW-Stevens Point opened its season with wins over Wisconsin Lutheran and Alverno on Sunday. Thorson picked up a 6-1, 6-0 win at third singles in an 8-1 win over the Warriors’ Tabitha Schultz and a 6-0, 6-2 win at second singles in a 6-3 win over the Inferno’s Brittanie Ward.
