After qualifying for the finals in the 800-meter run Friday (Mar. 8) at the NCAA National Championships by lacing in the top two in his heat, Gilles worked his way to a sixth-place finish earning All-America honors on the final day of the NCAA Championships. His time of 1:52.72 was milliseconds behind the fifth-place finisher after dropping to sixth in the final stretch. Gilles racked up UWSP's second and final All-America nod for the indoor season.

Men's Distance Medley Relay (Track & Field)
The relay team of Logan Lutz, Brad Brewer, Blake Lobner and Derek Penzkover raced their way to All-America honors with an eighth-place finish in the distance medley relay with a time of 9:55.64 at the NCAA Championships. The Pointers unit made a late push in the final stretch to climb their way into the top-eight.
Spencer Baeckman (Volleyball)
Baeckman tallied nine kills in each win for the Pointers this week. Against Concordia Chicago (Mar. 5), He tallied nine kills, two assists, three blocks and four digs in a 3-0 win. Against Wisconsin Lutheran (Mar. 8), Baeckman logged a team game-high nine kills, six digs and one block.
