Eleven-time All-American and two-time Olympic Trials swimmer Jack Englehardt has returned to UW-Stevens Point as an assistant swimming coach for the 2026-27 season.

Englehardt comes back to UWSP after spending the last three seasons at UW-La Crosse. At UWL, he helped the Eagles win their first men’s conference title since 1971 and was a member of the 2026 WIAC Men’s Coaching Staff of the Year. He also was named to the 2025 WIAC Women’s Coaching Staff of the Year and helped UWL win the women’s title the last two seasons. During his coaching tenure, UWL swimmers broke three WIAC records and 16 team records between the men’s and women’s programs.

Prior to UWL, Englehardt was the head coach of the Madison West boys swimming team for five years. He led MWHS to a third-place finish at the 2021 WIAA State Championships. Under his tutelage, his swimmers set seven school records and one state record.

Englehardt is no stranger to UWSP swimming as he was a member of four men’s WIAC Champion teams in 2014, 2016, 2017 and 2018. He won 15 conference titles as an individual and a relay team. He also set five different WIAC conference records.

In 2018, Englehardt was the national runner-up in the 50-yard freestyle, an event he won three-straight WIAC championships in from 2016-18.

In 2021 and 2024, Englehardt qualified for the United States Olympic Trials in the 50-meter freestyle, joining fellow UWSP alums Randy Boelk and Chase Gross as former Pointers that have competed for a spot on a national team. En route to qualifying in 2024, Englehardt raced to a time of 22.44, breaking Olympic Gold Medalist Neil Walker’s Wisconsin State record.

Englehardt earned his bachelor of science degree in biology from UW-Stevens Point in 2018. He earned a masters in coaching education from Ohio University in 2023.
