UW-Stevens Point’s all-time winningest wrestler, Yan White is in his fifth season on the coaching staff and fourth year as the team’s head assistant coach after serving one year as a student assistant.
White is one of two wrestlers in school history to compete in the national championship match three straight years, winning the title in 2001 and finishing runner-up the following two years. White was a three-time WIAC champion and compiled a 103-15 career record for the best winning percentage in school history. He was the WIAC wrestler of the meet in 2001 and 2002.
An Antigo native, White was UW-Stevens Point’s male athlete of the year in an individual sport in 2001 and 2003.
Yan lives in Mosinee with his wife, Tori, and they are expecting their first child in May.
