Not long removed from her playing days, Kate Banser back with the Pointers this season in her second season as a student assistant coach.
Banser played for the Pointers for the 2004 and 2005 seasons, totaling 405 kills and 130 blocks in 175 career games. She played the previous two seasons as an all-state selection and team Most Valuable Player at UW-Marathon County.
A Merrill native, Banser was a three-sport athlete in high school, playing four seasons of volleyball, basketball and softball.
Banser served in the U.S. Navy from 1998-2002. She is completing a degree in Dietetics at UW-Stevens Point.
