  • Title
    Assistant Volleyball Coach

Amber Dunn is in her third season as an assistant coach with the Pointers volleyball team.

In 2013, UW-Stevens Point went on the deepest NCAA Tournament run in program history. UWSP defeated three straight top-six teams to advance to the national semifinals, before falling to Cal Lutheran. The Pointers compiled an overall record of 35-5 and the 35 wins were the most by a UWSP team since 1985. The team won 24 straight matches prior to the loss to Cal Lutheran. UW-Stevens Point won the WIAC Regular Season and WIAC Tournament titles in 2013. The regular season championship was the fourth for UWSP and the tournament title was the first for the program.

Dunn was previously the head junior varsity coach at Viterbo University and also served as an assistant coach for the team’s varsity women’s program. In 2011, the V-Hawks posted a 36-8 record under her watch.

Dunn has also coached several club and junior teams, most recently with the V-Hawk Power. Her 15U teams also received the gold medal in eight of their 10 previous tournaments. She has also coached numerous players that have gone on to play at a higher level.

A native of Central Wisconsin, Dunn played high school volleyball at Tri-County and was named the Central Wisconsin Player of the Year as a senior in 2006 and earned a scholarship to play collegiately at Viterbo University.

She was a three-year starter for the V-Hawks as a defensive specialist and helped the team finish with its best record each year, culminating in a Midwest Collegiate Conference championship and a No. 27 ranking in NAIA Division I.

Dunn lives in Wausau and works full time as a social worker for an adoption agency in Marathon County.
