Ninnemann is in her 20th season as head coach of the UW-Stevens Point women’s hockey team in 2025-26. In her tenure, the Pointers have experienced several successful seasons including a national third-place finish in 2006-07. Ninnemann was inducted into the Wisconsin Hockey Hall of Fame on September 10, 2022, just the third woman to be inducted.

National success is nothing new for Ninnemann, who experienced plenty as both a player and assistant coach. In fact, she is one of the only people ever to both play and coach in a Division III Frozen Four. She also was an assistant coach in the Frozen Four and became just the third female head coach ever to lead a team to the national semifinals.

Under Ninnemann’s direction the Pointers have posted a 253-203-50 overall record (.549) and her .549 winning percentage ranks 18th among active NCAA Division III coaches. Her 253 wins are 30th all-time among coaches at all divisions. Her teams posted a 70-42-17 mark in the Northern Collegiate Hockey Association (NCHA).

The Pointers earned a berth into the NCAA Tournament in 2013-14.

Ninnemann was UW-Stevens Point’s first All-American player in 2001-02 and captained the Pointers for three straight seasons from 2002-05. She totaled 55 goals and a school-record 69 assists for 124 points, ranking second in school history for goals and points. Ninnemann was named to the all-tournament team in 2004 when she led the Pointers to a national runner-up finish. She also assisted former UW-Stevens Point head coach and current North Dakota head coach Brian Idalski for one season with the Pointers in 2005-06, resulting in a third-place national finish.

In addition to Ninnemann’s hockey success, she also conveyed her winning ways as an assistant coach with the UW-Stevens Point softball team. In her first season on the diamond, Ninnemann helped the Pointers to one of their best seasons in school history with a 33-10 overall record and NCAA Division III tournament appearance. In 2006, Ninnemann assisted with the Stevens Point Area Senior High softball team that finished 23-1 and qualified for the WIAA state tournament.

Ninnemann, a Rosemount, Minn. native, has worked numerous camps, including USA Hockey camps in Rochester, N.Y. and UW-Stevens Point hockey schools.
