After achieving tremendous success as a prep and collegiate player, Megan Wilson has brought those winning ways to her coaching career and begins her fourth season as the Pointers’ top assistant coach in 2008-09.
Wilson was a member of the Pointers’ 2001-02 NCAA Division III championship team and actually got her first taste of coaching during the team’s championship run. Wilson stepped in and assisted the coaching staff after a late-season knee injury prematurely ended her season. During her career with the Pointers, Wilson was a three-year recipient of the team’s Pointer Award as voted by her teammates.
Wilson’s collegiate basketball success came on the heels of a successful prep career at Barneveld High School where she was a member of the Eagles’ undefeated back-to-back WIAA state championship teams in 1998 and 1999.
Wilson received her masters degree in General Education in 2008 and in addition to her coaching duties teaches in the Department of Health, Exercise Science and Athletics at UW-Stevens Point.
Wilson and her husband, Josh, reside in Stevens Point with their twin sons Aidan and Brody.
