Bambach (pronounced BAHM-bahk) enters his fourth year at UWSP in 2025-26.
The 2024 season saw Bambach lead the men's cross country team to the NCAA Championships for the first time since the 2010 season. His squad placed 16th.
In 2023, Bambach led Rachel Krouse to a 55th-place finish at the NCAA Championships in her third consecutive appearance. Krouse also broke her own record during the indoor season, setting a new program record in the 5000-meter run with a time of 17:03.25.
In 2022, he guided the women's cross country team to the NCAA Championships for the first time since 2013.
He came to UWSP after spending the previous seven years at Otterbein University in Ohio. There he was a full-time assistant track and cross country coach for the last five seasons and was a graduate assistant coach for two years prior.

During his tenure at Otterbein, he helped the cross country teams make five appearances at the NCAA Championships over six years. He also served as Meet Director for 24 cross country or track and field events at Otterbein, including twice at OAC Championship meets.

Bambach coached 22 All-Americans and 39 All-OAC performers since joining the Otterbein staff in 2016. He helped the men’s cross country team reach the NCAA Championships three years in a row, twice with top-20 team finishes.

A native of Allendale, Mich., Bambach was a national qualifier five times between the cross country and track teams as an athlete at Cornerstone University. He was a two-year team captain as well at Cornerstone.

Bambach earned a bachelor's degree in exercise science from Cornerstone in 2015. He completed his master's degree in allied health administration at Otterbein in 2018.
