Mike Dellemann

Dellemann enters his first year as an assistant coach with the UWSP track and field and cross country teams. He was a volunteer coach in 2016-17 assisting with hurdles and short sprints.

He returns to his alma mater where he still holds the school record in the indoor pentathlon.  He was an All-American in the indoor pentathlon in 2009 and the indoor 55-meter hurdles in 2010.  In 2009 and 2010, he was the WIAC champion in the 55-meter hurdles and he won the conference decathlon in 2009.  He competed on the track and field team at UWSP from 2005-10.
 
He started coaching in 2010 at Stevens Point Area Senior High specializing in pole vault, hurdles and high jump.  He also assisted with sprints and other jumps during his seven years at SPASH.  During his time at SPASH, he coached a state champion and a total of eight state qualifiers.  He was part of a coaching staff that led SPASH to several indoor and outdoor conference championships.
 
Upon completion of his degree at UWSP, Dellemann tried out for the U.S. bobsled and skeleton team and made the elite development skeleton team.  He trained and competed in four different countries from 2011-13 and ranked fourth leading into the 2014 Olympic season.  With multiple top-10 international finishes, Dellemann was regarded as one of the fastest push athletes in the world.
 
Dellemann graduated from UW-Stevens Point in 2010 with a degree in business administration.  He also completed his MBA in 2015.  A native of Oregon, Wis., Dellemann now resides in Stevens Point with partner, Emily, and daughter, Penny.
