Sonnenberg brings a total of 20+ years of throws experience to the table and is in his 15th season as throws coach for UW-Stevens Point. In this time his athletes have garnered 14 NCAA DIII All-American awards and produced 47 national qualifying performances. He has also led athletes to five individual WIAC championships in the throws and six school records during his tenure. Two of his athletes are ranked in the top 20 all-time NCAA DIII performance list in the women’s discus. Prior to coaching at UWSP, Matt coached at the high school level for three years and was also a thrower for UWSP.
