Justin Stoffel

Coach Stoffel is in his 21st year as an assistant coach with the Pointers and 20th as associate head coach.  Since 2005 he has helped lead the Pointers to 23 Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (WIAC) titles establishing the program among the best in the nation, including an 11th place finish at the 2018 NCAA Swimming & Diving Championships in Indianapolis, Indiana.

A native of Stevens Point, Stoffel has coached collegiate, high school, USA and YMCA swimming programs for 25 seasons.  His athletes have won 33 state titles, set seventeen state meet records and earned 11 individual NCAA All-Americans, 27 individual honorable mention NCAA All-Americans and a combined 44 NCAA All-American and honorable mention relays.     

His primary focus of stroke refinement and training progressions for all ages stems from his previous experience coaching with the Texas Longhorn Swim Camp under Olympic coaches Ed Reese and Kris Kubik.  
 
During his time at UWSP, Stoffel has served as a lecturer in the UWSP School of Education.  He has taught coaching 200- Scientific Concepts in Sport & Activity as well as coaching 372- Psychology of Sport & Activity.  
 
He earned his bachelor’s and master’s degrees from UWSP in Physical Education and Educational Sport Leadership.

Stoffel also directs the UW-Stevens Point aquatics center and serves on the UWSP Athletics Hall of Fame as a committee member.  
 
In 2016, Stoffel collaborated with retired (1965-1997) UWSP swimming & diving head coach Lynn “Red” Blair to update the UWSP Aquatics Center.  Their combined efforts raised over $90,000 to replace starting blocks, scoreboards, lane lines, record boards and PowerRacks.  

Justin resides in Stevens Point with his wife, Erin, son, Matias, and daughter, Jerra.
