Ron Harke joins the Pointers staff after seven years as the assistant coach at Lawrence University in Appleton, Wis. During his time with the Vikings, which included two years working with Coach Konitzer, Lawrence experienced rejuvenated success while reaching the Midwest Conference Tournament three-straight times from 2013-15, winning the North Division Championship in 2015.
During his tenure, he saw five of his pitchers selected MWC All-Conference and two of those pitchers selected All-Great Lakes Region. Along with coaching pitchers, Harke was instrumental in the recruiting process and scouting efforts.
Prior to arriving at Lawrence, Harke was a local figure in the travel ball scene. He started with the 16U Kimberly Cardinals, where he won an ASA national championship, before spending 2009-16 with Wisconsin Elite.
Harke’s main responsibilities at UWSP will include recruiting, scouting, defensive alignment and assisting with infield and pitchers.
