Kelly Franks starts her first season as assistant softball coach at UW- Stevens Point in 2017, focusing on pitching.

Franks played at St. Cloud State from 2012-2015 as a pitcher and named to the All-NSIC Second Team in 2013 and 2015 for her excellence in pitching.

She is first in St. Cloud State softball program history for the lowest opponent batting average (.202) and most strikeouts looking (271), 152 more than second in program history. She also ranks second in strikeouts (773) and fourth in most appearances (127) as a Huskie. Franks is also fifth in program history for most wins (49), complete games (49), shutouts (15), and innings pitched (623).

Franks pitched a perfect game her senior year against U-Mary in a seven inning 7-0 win on April 26, 2015.

Franks graduated St. Cloud State with a degree in recreation and sport management.  She pitched for SPASH as a prep and earned Wisconsin Valley Conference Player of the Year honors her senior campaign.  As a sophomore, she went 9-0 for the Panthers and led SPASH to 2009 Wisconsin State Championship.
