Trevor Smyth is in his first season at UWSP. He joins the Pointers from Brown University, where he lettered two seasons, and spent two as an undergraduate assistant and the teams video coordinator.  Smyth’s responsibilities at Brown included scouting and devising game plans for upcoming opponents, breaking down game video to provide in-game adjustments and post-game teaching clips, and assisting in practice planning and system implementation. In 2012-13 he helped the team to reach the ECAC Championship game for the first time in twenty seasons.
 
Prior to Brown, Smyth spent three seasons in the Alberta Junior Hockey League playing for both the Drumheller Dragons and the Fort McMurray Oil Barons. An Assistant Captain in 2007-08 and 2008-09, he posted 57 goals and 88 assists for 145 points and 535 penalty minutes in 206 total career games.
 
The Calgary, Alberta, native graduated in May of 2013 with a bachelor of arts in economics. Smyth has also worked extensively with Calgary Hockey Development in the off-seasons.Â
