Haney is in his first season as the assistant men's hockey coach at UW-Stevens Point in 2014-15.
In Stevens Point, he is also the head JV coach at Stevens Point Area Senior High (SPASH) and is the head coach of the U-18 North Central team of the Wisconsin Elite Hockey League (WEHL).
Haney comes to UW-Stevens Point after spending two seasons at Western New England University, where he served as the top assistant. At Western New England, Haney worked primarily with the defensemen and also was the recruiting coordinator, in addition to day-to-day operations.
Prior to Western New England, Haney was a volunteer assistant at SUNY Cortland for two seasons and the National Sports Academic (NSA) in Lake Placid, New York. While at NSA, he worked with the Mountaineers' prep and junior teams, as they won the 2012 IJHL championship.
A 2012 graduate of SUNY Cortland, Haney was a three-year member of the Red Dragons hockey team before an injury prematurely ended his collegaite career. During his freshman year, he received State University of New York Athletic Conference rookie of the week honors.
Prior to Cortland, Haney played prep school hockey at the National Sports Academy. He graduated from Marcellus Central School in New York and played five years of hockey at Solvay High School.
Haney has also worked as an instructor at the Can/Am Hockey School, the Hamilton College Prospects Clinic, the U.S. Developmental Program Hockey School in Ann Arbor, Mich and has spoken at a USA Hockey coaching clinic.
