Kromm is in his third season at UWSP in 2023-24 after arriving from South Dakota. In 2022-23, he helped UWSP reach the quarterfinals of the NCAA Tournament after advancing out of the opening round with a win in the fourth overtime over Augsburg, the longest game in program history. The Pointers also won both the regular season and WIAC Tournament championships in 2022-23 with Kromm on staff.

He came to UWSP after spending two seasons as the assistant varsity and head JV coach with the Yankston Ice Hockey Association.  Additionally, Kromm worked as a therapeutic recreation specialist and mental health associate with the Human Services Center in Yankston.

Before Yankston, Kromm spent time in Jamestown, North Dakota, and Portland, Maine working in various capacities around hockey.

Kromm played at the University of Jamestown where he served as an assistant captain in 2019-20.  He played in 128 games with the Jimmies scoring 11 goals and adding 17 assists.  He also led Jamestown to the national tournament twice.

Kromm also played for the Princeton Posse (KIJHL) from 2013-2015 and the English River Miners (SIJHL) in 2015-16.

Bryan's brother Alex Kromm played four years for the Pointers, captaining UWSP to the National Championship in 2016.
