Scott Anderson

A standout player for the Pointers from 1988-90, Scott Anderson has carried that success into his coaching career and begins his third year as UW-Stevens Point's assistant coach in 2007-08.

An all-conference player, Anderson has made a smooth transition to the coaching staff. He has been a part of two successful seasons with the Pointers, including a 26-3 campaign in 2006-07.

Anderson spent the previous six years as the head varsity boys’ basketball coach at Neenah High School. He compiled a 75-59 record with the Rockets, leading the team to the WIAA state tournament in 1999-2000.

Anderson was a first-team all-conference performer as a senior for the Pointers in 1989-90 while leading the team at 16.4 points per game and shooting a single-season school record 92.5 percent from the free throw line. He also led the team in scoring as a junior with 13.6 points per game. Anderson still holds the Pointers’ career free throw shooting record at 90.4 percent. He also competed two seasons as a pitcher on the Pointers’ baseball team. Anderson played his first two seasons at UW-Eau Claire.

An Auburndale native, Anderson scored 1,977 career points in high school while averaging 32.4 points per game and playing for his father, Tim, who is one of Wisconsin’s all-time winningest prep coaches. Anderson was also an all-state baseball player and all-conference football player in high school.
