Brant Bailey, a 2013 inductee into the UW-Stevens Point Athletic Hall of Fame, is in his second season as a graduate assistant coach with the Pointers.
Bailey spent four seasons as a member of the Pointers men's basketball team and still holds multiple records, including the mark for points in a season with 723 in 1999-2000. He also holds UWSP marks in free throws made in a game (25), season (219) and career (444). His 1,506 career points rank eighth in school history.
As a senior, Bailey was a team captain and MVP of the WIAC championship and NCAA Elite 8 team. He was also named a NABC First Team All-American and the WIAC Player of the Year as a senior. Bailey was a two-time WIAC First Team All-Conference selection and was an honorable mention for one season.
After graduating from UWSP, Bailey, a Wisconsin Dells, Wis., native, played professionally in Europe and Asia. He retired from professional basketball in 2012 and is currently pursuing his master’s degree.Â
