Konop is in his sixth season as an assistant football coach for the Pointers. A former WIAC First Team All-Conference performer, Konop also serves as the Strength and Conditioning Coordinator.
As a standout defensive tackle for the UWSP from 1993-1997, Konop also served as a team captain. Following his days as a Pointer, he went on to play professionally in an arena league from 1998-2000.
The Stevens Point native was also a high school state champion in the shot put and wrestling at Pacelli High School. As an assistant coach, Konop helped lead the Pacelli football squad to a 2005 WIAA Division 7 state championship.
