Ben Chester is in his first year as an assistant football coach with UW-Stevens Point.

The former quarterback played for the Ripon College Redhawks from 2008-10.

After two years at Ripon, Chester went on to play professionally for the La Crosse Spartans of the Indoor Football League under head coach Gilbert Brown. After playing for the Spartans, he had two other stints in the IFL for the Green Bay Blizzard and Reading Express of Pennsylvania.

Chester completed his bachelor's degree at UW-Green Bay in December of 2012 with a degree in business administration with a minor in psychology.

Upon graduation, he joined UW-Oshkosh as an NFL Liaison/Football Operations Assistant.  Chester saw much success during  his time at UW-O, helping former quarterback Nate Wara garner NFL attention, along with a tryout for the Green Bay Packers.

Chester, a Green Bay, Wis., native, resides in Stevens Point.  Younger brother, Mitch Chester, plays on the defensive line for the Pointers.
