Vlcko is in his sixth season on the staff at UWSP and he serves as the team's assistant head coach and offensive coordinator.  He served as the defensive coordinator for the Pointers in 2012.

During his time as the offensive coordinator, the Pointer offense has averaged 30 points per game.  This includes having had two of the highest scoring offenses over the last twenty years at UWSP – topping out at 37 points per game in 2015.

Adjusting to the strengths of his personnel has been the key to the Pointers success having averaged over 180 rushing yards a game in one season, followed by averaging over 280 passing yards a game the next.

Vlcko has also coached two All-Conference quarterbacks at UWSP, which marks the tenth time in the last 15 seasons a quarterback was recognized at the conference level playing in this system.

Vlcko began his coaching career as the running backs coach at Lindenwood University from 1994-96. He then spent eight seasons at Bemidji State (Division II) from 1996-2003, serving first as the quarterback and wide receivers coach before taking over as the team's offensive coordinator in 1998.  In 2003, he returned to his alma mater, Coe College, where he was the team's quarterbacks and running backs coach as well as an assistant with special teams.  Before his arrival in Stevens Point, he served as the head coach at Truman State (Division II) for the 2009 season after having spent the previous four seasons as the Offensive Coordinator.

Vlcko graduated from Coe College in 1994 with a bachelor of arts in economics and business administration. In 1996, he earned a master's of business administration degree from Lindenwood, and in 1999 he earned a master of science in physical education degree from Bemidji State.

Vlcko and his wife Michelle have a daughter, Ashlyn and a son, Brandon. He also serves as an instructor in the School of Education.
