Rich Loomis

Rich is a native of Minnesota and played collegiate baseball at Valley City State University, where he was an all-conference and all-district pitcher. Post collegiately, Loomis was paid to play in Moose Jaw, Saskatchewan, Canada. Loomis received the pitcher of the league award during first year in the league.  
 
Rich started his coaching career while in Canada as the head coach of the Moose Jaw Dodgers (players aged 16-19); he led the Dodgers to a provincial championship and Western Canadian championship, which qualified the Dodgers for their first appearance in the national championships.   
 
After coaching in Canada, Loomis accepted the position of pitching coach at Barry University in Miami Shores, FL. Rich has also been the pitching coach and recruiting coordinator at Trinidad State Junior College in Trinidad, CO. He also served as the pitching coach for the Wisconsin Woodchucks of the Northwoods League, a premier summer collegiate wood bat league. Rich then coached for the Angels Scout teams, which develops elite high school players in the Phoenix, AZ area.  Loomis was also the pitching coach at Dakota Wesleyan University in Mitchell, SD. Rich accepted the position of pitching coach at the University of Wisconsin-Stevens Point in the fall of 2015.
 
During Loomis’ coaching career, he has had over 12 former pitchers play professional baseball, two of which, have pitched in Major League Baseball.
 
Rich’s wife, Beth, grew up in Appleton, WI and they have one daughter.
