ST. PETER, Minn. – The UW-Stevens Point women's tennis players
Ellie Aitken (Sterling, Ill./Sterling) and
Lacey Foss (Roscoe, Ill./Hononegah) had quite the weekend at the Gustie Invite. Both won their respective singles brackets and teamed up to reach the finals in their doubles bracket.
Results
Foss won Draw 3 of the Gustie Invite. She got a 4-0, 4-1 win against Loras. She won by the same score against Stout. In the semifinals, she got a 4-1, 5-4 (5) win versus Macalester. In the final, Foss prevailed with a 6-1, 2-6, 10-8 victory against Concordia (MN).
Aitken won her Draw 7 bracket. She rallied for a 2-4, 4-0, 13-11 win in the opening round against St. Catherine. She got a 4-1, 4-1 win over Saint Benedict and a 4-0, 4-0 win to move to the final. There, she again rallied for a 1-6, 6-0, 10-3 win against Gustavus Adolphus.
Aitken and Foss got an 8-3 win over St. Scholastica in the opening round in the doubles Draw 3. They got an 8-5 win against St. Olaf in the quarterfinals. In the semifinals, the duo earned an 8-1 win over Concordia (Wis.) to advance to the finals.
Chloe Regal (Stewartville, Minn./Stewartville) got two wins in the singles draw of the ITAs. She defeated Logan Kane of Lawrence, 6-1, 6-0. In her next match, she won against Addison Leasure of Coe, 6-2, 4-6, 10-2.

Annie Wierzbicki (Mukwonago, Wis./Mukwonago) picked up two wins in the ITA draw. They got an 8-6 win against Grinnell and an 8-3 win over Central.
In other Gustie Invite draws,
Allie Brosteau (Suamico, Wis./Bay Port) got a win in Draw 1 against Loras.
Hayley Jensen (Wisconsin Rapids, Wis./Lincoln) got a 4-2, 5-3 win over UW-River Falls and a 5-3, 4-1 win against Concordia (MN) in Draw 9.
Georgia Haddorff (West Bend, Wis./West) got a pair of wins in Draw 10. She got a 4-2, 5-3 win over Saint Mary's and a 4-0, 0-4, 10-5 against Northwestern.
In doubles draws, Brosteau and Haddorff got an 8-6 win versus Concordia (WI) in Draw 1 opening round. They picked up an 8-4 win against Saint Mary's in the second round.
The Pointers are back in action on Oct. 6 with a 3:30 p.m. match at UW-Whitewater.
