DAVENPORT, Fla. – The UW-Stevens Point baseball team (5-3) earned its second-consecutive run-rule win with a 10-0 victory over St. Olaf (4-7) on Thursday.
Kamden Oliver (Viroqua, Wis./Viroqua) had three hits, drove in three and scored a run.
Connor Olson (Hartland, Wis./Arrowhead),
Drew Mistele (Baraboo, Wis./Baraboo) and
Tommy Drohner (Plover, Wis./SPASH) each added two hits. Mistele scored two runs.
Nick Argersinger (Bristol, Wis./Westosha Central) singled to begin the second inning. Mistele legged out a bunt single and an errant throw allowed Argersinger to move to third.
Easton Snow (DeForest, Wis./DeForest Area) reached on a throwing error as he drove in the first run of the game. Drohner followed with a single to push another run. Oliver followed with an RBI single. With two away,
Connor Olson (Hartland, Wis./Arrowhead) drew a walk.
Cooper Brown (Appleton, Wis./West) ripped a double into the right field corner to plate two more for a 5-0 lead.
Snow drew a walk to lead off the sixth. Drohner moved him to second on a sacrifice bunt. After a wild pitch, Oliver hit a sac fly to score Snow.
Tyler Soule (Oregon, Wis./Oregon) and Olson had singles to plate another for a 7-0 lead.
Tino Ramirez (Muskego, Wis./Muskego) began the seventh with a walk. Argersinger reached on an error as did Mistele as a run scored on both plays. With two outs, Oliver singled to plate the walk-off run.
Josh Steger (Lomira, Wis./Lomira) went 5.0 innings in the start. He struck out four and gave up the only two hits St. Olaf got in the game.
Kaeden Wagenaar (Algonquin, Ill./Jacobs) tossed 2.0 hitless frames with a pair of strikeouts.
