EAU CLAIRE, Wis – Senior
Luca Paladino (Oak Creek, Wis./Oak Creek) is a WIAC Champion after winning the 125 bracket at the WIAC Championships (presented by Culver's) for the UW-Stevens Point men's wrestling team. The Pointers were fourth in the team standings.
Results
Paladino went 4-0 on the way to his title. He won by fall in the first bout of the day. He won by tech fall and then by sudden victory to reach the finals. In the title bout, he earned a 7-3 decision win.
Carson Trotzer (Weston, Wis./D.C. Everest) finished third in the 174 bracket. He picked up four wins, one by tech fall, two by major decision and one by medical forfeit.
Raydon Bipes (Hutchinson, Minn./Hutchinson) was fourth in the bracket getting three wins, one each by fall, sudden victory and tech fall.
Logan Neitzel (Lomira, Wis./Lomira) was fourth in the 197 bracket. He won twice by fall and once by major decision. Owen Hanson was sixth and he won once by decision on the day.
Caleb Nobiling (Antioch, Ill./Antioch Community) took fifth in the 141 bracket. He earned two wins by fall on the day.
Riese Thornberry (Germantown, Wis./Germantown) was fifth at 149. He got two wins, both by decision.
Graeson Pankratz (Little Suamico, Wis./Oconto Falls) had one win by decision in the bracket.
Dylan Cariveau (St. Paul, Minn./Roseville Area) placed fifth in the 165 bracket. He got three wins on the day, all in the consolation bracket. He won twice by decision and once by tiebreak-1.
Easton Hull (Waupun, Wis./Waupun) took fifth in the 184 bracket. He got wins by tech fall and fall on the day.
The Pointers are back in Eau Claire on Feb. 27 for the NCAA Region VII beginning at 9:00 a.m.
