WHITEWATER, Wis. – The UW-Stevens Point women's tennis team came within a super-breaker of knocking off UW-Whitewater, falling by the slimmest of margins at 4-3.
Chloe Regal (Stewartville, Minn./Stewartville) rallied from a first set loss, to prevail in three sets at No. 1 singles. She picked up a set two win, 6-3, and completed the comeback with a 6-4 win in the third set.
Ellie Aitken (Sterling, Ill./Sterling) got a 6-3, 6-4 win at No. 3 singles. At No. 6 singles,
Georgia Haddorff (West Bend, Wis./West) was victorious by a 6-1, 7-5 final.

Lacey Foss (Roscoe, Ill./Hononegah) got a 7-6 win at No. 2, but UWW took the team doubles point.
Annie Wierzbicki (Mukwonago, Wis./Mukwonago) came within an eyelash of giving the Pointers the win. At No. 2 singles, she won the opening set, 6-3. After dropping the second set, she came within 6-4 in the third set of earning a UWSP win.
The Pointers will host UW-Oshkosh on Friday (Oct. 9) at 4:00 p.m. at University Courts.
