WILLIAMSPORT, Pa. – The UW-Stevens Point men's wrestling team went 1-2 on Friday at the Budd Whitehill Duals. UWSP defeated Oswego State, 42-6, but dropped duals to ranked foes Stevens, 19-18, and Ohio Northern, 20-16.

Luca Paladino (Oak Creek, Wis./Oak Creek),
Deakin Trotzer (Weston, Wis./D.C. Everest),
Carson Trotzer (Weston, Wis./D.C. Everest) and
Easton Hull (Waupun, Wis./Waupun) each got wins by decision.
Riese Thornberry (Germantown, Wis./Germantown) won by major decision.
Paladino got a major decision win against Stevens.
Deakin Trotzer (Weston, Wis./D.C. Everest) got a third-period win by fall.
Caden Young (Clintonville, Wis./Shawano Community),
Carson Trotzer (Weston, Wis./D.C. Everest) and
Logan Neitzel (Lomira, Wis./Lomira) each got wins by decision. But a team point deduction for control of mat was the deciding factor in the 19-18 loss.
In the win over Oswego State,
Maddox Rye (Wausau, Wis./Wausau East) and
Dylan Cariveau (St. Paul, Minn./Roseville Area) earned wins by fall. Thornberry won by tech fall and D. Trotzer won by major decision.
George Ahles (Mosinee, Wis./Mosinee), Young and Hull got wins by decision. Neitzel and
Jack Callen (Portage, Wis./Portage) won by forfeit.
The Pointers face MSOE at 9:00 a.m. ET in the 9-12 bracket. UWSP will face either TCNJ or Cortand State at 12:00 p.m. ET to wrap up the weekend.
