STEVENS POINT, Wis. – The UW-Stevens Point women's hockey team (9-11-0, 3-4-0) picked up a 2-1 win over visiting Beloit (2-17-0, 0-7-0) in the weekend opener on Friday night.
Senior
Grace Torma (Centerville, Minn./Centennial) scored her first goal of the season at 9:26 of the first period to give the Pointers an early lead.
Jenna Britz (Maple Grove, Minn./Wayzata) posted her first collegiate assist on the play.
In the final minute of the first period, the Buccaneers tied the game as a centering pass deflected off a skate and in.
Neither team scored in the second period or through the first half of the third period.

Tara Rigan (Lindenhurst, Ill./Lakes Community) scored the eventual game-winner, her first goal of the season.
