WHEATON, Ill. – The UW-Stevens Point men's wrestling team took nine athletes to the Pete Willson Invite. After day one action, the Pointers are 11th in the 30-team field.
Results
Luca Paladino (Oak Creek, Wis./Oak Creek) went 3-0 on the day in the 125 bracket. He won by fall, major decision and a 4-2 decision to move on to Saturday's semifinal round.
Carson Trotzer (Weston, Wis./D.C. Everest) also got three wins on Friday in the 174 bracket. He won twice by fall and then by major decision to reach the semifinals.
Riese Thornberry (Germantown, Wis./Germantown) got two wins by major decision in the 149 bracket.
Deakin Trotzer (Weston, Wis./D.C. Everest) earned a win by fall in the 157 bracket.
Caden Young (Clintonville, Wis./Shawano Community) picked up a win by fall and another by decision in the 165 bracket. Eastin Hull got a 9-5 decision win in the 184 bracket.
George Ahles (Mosinee, Wis./Mosinee),
Logan Neitzel (Lomira, Wis./Lomira) and
Jack Callen (Portage, Wis./Portage) also competed on Friday.
Paladino and Trotzer begin action in the semifinal round on Saturday (Jan. 31) at 11:00 a.m.
