STEVENS POINT, Wis. – The UW-Stevens Point men's hockey team (8-9-2, 3-5-1) picked up three vital points with a 3-1 win over No. 15 UW-Stout (13-5-1, 6-2-1) in the series finale between the teams.
Camden Markham (Houghton, Mich.) gave UWSP the lead at 6:59 of the first period.
Quinton Hill (Coquitlam, B.C.) and
Gabe Randel (Hortonville, Wis.) had assists. Randel extended his points streak to six games with the helper.
At 4:51 of the second period,
Aiden Moser (Bismark, N.D.) scored his second goal of the weekend, a power-play tally, for a 2-0 lead.
Owen Dean (Calgary, Alberta) and
Nico Chmelevski (Northville, Mich.) had assists on the eventual game-winner.
The Blue Devils got on the board at 15:59 of the third period to spoil UWSP goaltender
Alex Proctor's (Allen, Texas) shutout bid.
Cody Pisarczyk (Airdria, Alberta) added an empty-net goal in the final seconds to seal the win.
Sean Bunting (Phoenix, Ariz.) had an assist.
Proctor made 25 saves to earn the win. Stout goaltender Sebastian Monaco had 20 saves.
The Pointers travel to UW-River Falls for a weekend series beginning on Friday (Jan. 30) at 7:00 p.m.
