Moser Nets First Career Goal, Pointers Fall in OT

MENOMONIE, Wis. – The UW-Stevens Point men's hockey team (7-9-2, 2-5-1) fell by a 2-1 final in overtime at No. 15 UW-Stout (13-4-1, 6-1-1) on Friday.
 
The Blue Devils broke the scoreless tie at 13:03 of the second period. The UW-Stout lead lasted less than two minutes.
 
Sophomore Aiden Moser (Bismark, N.D.) scored his first career goal at 15:51 of the second period to tie the game at 1-1. Gabe Randel (Hortonville, Wis.) had an assist on the goal to run his point streak to five games.
 
Neither team scored in the third period and the game went to overtime. Midway through overtime, the Blue Devils got a power play. Nineteen seconds into the power play, Stout tallied the game-winner.
 
UWSP goaltender Alex Proctor (Allen, Texas) had 23 saves. Stout goaltender Sebastian Monaco made 25 saves for the win.
 
The Pointers and Blue Devils close out the season series at K.B. Willett Arena on Saturday (Jan. 24). Puck drop is at 7:00 p.m.
