PLATTEVILLE, Wis. – The No. 11 UW-Stevens Point men's basketball team (13-3, 3-2) fell at No. 19 UW-Platteville (12-4, 4-1) by a 63-61 final on Saturday.
Seth Miron (Appleton, Wis./Kimberly) poured in a game-high 25 points. He was 10-for-17 from the floor.
Carter Combs (Stevens Point, Wis./SPASH) was also in double figures with 10 points.
Grant Manz (Kiel, Wis./Kiel) led the Pointers with seven rebounds.
Miron was in double figures with 11 points in just over eight minutes of action as UWSP led, 18-11.
Logan Baumgartner (Medford, Wis./Medford) hit a three and Manz gave UWSP a 29-18 lead. Miron added four points late and the UWSP advantage was 40-34 at the break.
Miron had four points, but UWP opened the second half with a 25-10 run. Baumgartner nailed another three and had five points. Combs cut the deficit to four with a layup. Miron hit two free throws late as the Pioneers held off the late charge by UWSP.
The Pointers are back home to take on UW-River Falls on Wednesday (Jan. 21). Tipoff in Quandt Fieldhouse is set for 7:00 p.m.
