GLOUCESTER, Mass. – UW-Stevens Point women's hockey assistant coach
Craig Dakins was bestowed the American Hockey Coaches Association (AHCA) Assistant Women's Coach Award, the organization announced on Monday (Jan. 12). The award honors an assistant coach's career body of work.

Dakins is currently in his 25th season behind the UWSP women's hockey bench. During his tenure with the women's program, the team has gone 369-232-61.
He began his coaching career on the women's side in 2001 with then-head coach Brian Idalski. In 2006, he endorsed current head coach
Ann Ninnemann and has remained on her staff since.
Dakins retired from his job at the paper mill in Wisconsin Rapids five years ago. Prior to that, he was working full time at the paper mill in addition to coaching the women's program.
