Lucas, Pointers Post Third-Straight Shutout in Draw with Hamline

STEVENS POINT, Wis. – UW-Stevens Point women's soccer goalkeeper Shea Lucas (Evanston, Ill./Evanston Township) extended her shutout streak to 315 minutes as the Pointers (2-1-1) played visiting Hamline (1-1-2) to a 0-0 tie at Point Soccer Bowl on Sunday.
 
The shutout was the third-consecutive by the Pointers, the longest shutout streak since 2023 when UWSP had three shutouts from Sept. 27 to Oct. 1.
 
Lucas made four saves in the shutout on Sunday. She has not allowed a goal since entering at halftime of the season opener.
 
The Pointers earned a penalty kick in the fifth minute, but the Hamline goalkeeper made the save.
 
Paige Ostroushko (Prior Lake, Minn./Shattuck St. Mary's) and Cass Klitzke (Reedsburg, Wis./Reedsburg Area) had two shots on goal each. Christa Borchardt (New Berlin, Wis./West), Rita Danner (West Des Moines, Iowa/Waukee), Nora Lee (Holmen, Wis./Holmen) and Emily Miner (Brookfield, Wis./Brookfield East) added one shot on goal each.
 
The Pointers travel to St. Olaf on Wednesday (Sept. 10) for a 4:00 p.m. match.
