WHITEWATER, Wis. – The UW-Stevens Point women's tennis team was eliminated from the WIAC Team Tournament with a 4-0 loss to host UW-Whitewater in the semifinal round.
UWSP's No 2 doubles pair of
Allie Brosteau (Suamico, Wis./Bay Port) and
Brooklynn Steier (West De Pere, Wis./West De Pere) and No. 3 duo of
Maya Kunze (Stevens Point, Wis./Pacelli) and
Abigail Ashley (Green Bay, Wis./Bay Port) both won two games. UWSP's No. 1 pair of
Tristin Jantz (Salem, Wis./Westosha Central) and
Jordan Scharf (Wauwatosa, Wis./West) won one game as UWW claimed the team doubles point.
Morgan Milan (Greenfield, Wis./Whitnall) won a game in each set at No. 6 singles, falling, 6-1, 6-1. Jantz won one game in the opening set at No. 1 singles and Scharf was shut out at No. 3 singles.
In abandoned action, Steier and Brosteau won four games each at No. 2 and No. 5 singles, respectively. Kunze won three games at No. 4 singles.
The Pointers close out the season at home on Sunday (April 27) with an 11:00 a.m. match against Edgewood.
