RIVER FALLS, Wis.—The UW-Stevens Point women's lacrosse team (2-13, 1-6) fell to UW-River Falls (10-5, 5-3) by a final of 20-3.
UWRF took control of goals scored right away in the first quarter, netting six goals.
Marissa Van Dyke (Green Bay, Wis./Green Bay Southwest) scored the Pointers' first goal at 1:40 off an assist from
Courtney Leising (Maple Grove, Minn./Maple Grove).
Aubrey Keeping (Moorhead, Minn./Moorhead) netted an unassisted goal at 7:48 in the second quarter to make it 8-2 going into halftime.
UWRF showed a strong defensive run in the third quarter, not allowing a Pointer goal.
At 11:02 in the fourth quarter, Van Dyke found
Barrie Bahr (Grand Rapids, Minn./Grand Rapids) for the Pointers' final goal of the game.
Emily Griege (Chesterfield, Mo./Westminster Christian Academy) was in goal completing 11 saves in 60 minutes of play, where she recorded her 300
th career save, becoming the first Pointer to do so.
The Pointers head to St. Joseph, Minn., on Friday (Apr. 25) to take on College of Saint Benedict. Opening draw is scheduled for 5:00 p.m.
