Men’s Wrestling Gets Five Through to Day Two of NCAA Regionals

MINNEAPOLIS, Minn. – The UW-Stevens Point men's wrestling team has five athletes advancing to day two of the NCAA Region 7 Regionals.
 
Results
 
Carson Trotzer (Weston, Wis./D.C. Everest) is through to the semifinals in the 174 bracket. He went 2-0 with a 16-0 tech fall and a pin in 54 seconds.
 
Josh Heuss (Antigo, Wis./Antigo) went 2-0 on the day in the 165 bracket. He earned a 5-1 and a 1-0 decision win to move on to the semifinals.
 
Easton Hull (Waupun, Wis./Waupun) needed just a major decision win, 11-3, in the 184 bracket to reach the semis.
 
Logan Neitzel (Lomira, Wis./Lomira) got a win by fall in his opening match of the 197 bracket. He stayed alive in the consolation bracket with an 11-2 major decision win.
 
Riese Thornberry (Germantown, Wis./Germantown) needed just eight seconds for a pin in the consolation bracket at 141.
 
Blake Flach (Shell Lake, Wis./Shell Lake) got a win by 12-5 decision in the 285 bracket. Blaze Thurber (Nekoosa, Wis./Nekoosa) got a win by medical forfeit in the 133 bracket.
 
Heuss, Hull, Neitzel, Thornberry and Thurber return to action at 11:00 a.m. in Minnesota.
