WHITEWATER, Wis. – The UW-Stevens Point men's wrestling team finished fourth at the WIAC Championships (presented by Culver's) on Saturday.
Results
Riese Thornberry (Germantown, Wis./Germantown) took second in the 141 bracket. He had back-to-back decision wins to reach the finals. There, he came up short in an 8-3 decision.
Blake Flach (Shell Lake, Wis./Shell Lake) got three wins on the day and finished fourth in the 285 bracket. He had one win each by major decision, fall and decision.
Josh Heuss (Antigo, Wis./Antigo) placed fourth in the 165 bracket. He had two wins by fall and another by decision on the day.
Carson Trotzer (Weston, Wis./D.C. Everest) was sixth in the 174 bracket. He had two wins by tech fall in the bracket.
Maddox Rye (Wausau, Wis./Wausau East) finished sixth in the 149 bracket. He had one win by fall in the consolation bracket.
Easton Hull (Waupun, Wis./Waupun) got a win by tech fall in the 184 bracket to place sixth.
Dylan Cariveau (St. Paul, Minn./Roseville Area) had a win by tech fall in the consolation bracket at 157.
The Pointers are next in action at the NCAA Region 7 Tournament in Minneapolis beginning on Feb. 28. Action starts at 11:00 a.m.
