STEVENS POINT, Wis. – Junior
Seth Miron (Appleton, Wis./Kimberly) recorded his first collegiate double-double as the UW-Stevens Point men's basketball team (6-1) defeated North Central (2-7) by a 78-65 final.
Miron grabbed a career-high 10 rebounds and scored 14 points for UWSP.
Josiah Butler (Appleton, Wis./Fox Valley Lutheran) scored a game-high 24 points.
Cal Krohn (Waukesha, Wis./Waukesha West) was also in double figures with 14 points.
Butler had a layup in the opening minute, but the visiting Rams hit a pair of early threes as UWSP played from behind early.
Isaiah Moore (Chicago, Ill./Evanston Township) buried a three and had five points as UWSP got within 14-13.
Drew Daoust (Brussels, Wis./Southern Door) had six points and nailed a three as UWSP went ahead, 27-23.
Butler drilled a three and Krohn had three points late as UWSP held a 35-32 advantage at the half.
Butler buried another three to start the second half. Moore flushed a dunk after a steal to spark a 6-0 burst as the lead grew to 50-38. Butler scored 14 points down the stretch as the Pointers kept the lead near double digits the rest of the game.
The Pointers travel to Michigan for a 1:00 p.m. ET tipoff at the University of Olivet on Saturday (Dec. 13).
