STEVENS POINT, Wis. – The UW-Stevens Point men's wrestling team came up short in a conference dual against UW-Platteville, 25-23.
 
Luca Paladino (Oak Creek, Wis./Oak Creek) got UWSP on the board with a forfeit win at 125. Riese Thornberry (Germantown, Wis./Germantown) put the Pointers back in front with a major decision win, 18-5, at 149.
 
Caden Young (Clintonville, Wis./Shawano Community) got a 10-5 decision win at 165. Dylan Cariveau (St. Paul, Minn./Roseville Area) gave the Pointers the lead again with a 16-2 major decision win at 174.
 
Carson Trotzer (Weston, Wis./D.C. Everest) got a win by fall at the end of the second period at 184. But the Pioneers won the final two bouts to take the dual.
 
The Pointers travel to Iowa for the Ram Duals on Saturday (Dec. 13) beginning at 12:00 p.m.
