STEVENS POINT, Wis. – The UW-Stevens Point women's hockey team (6-2-0, 1-1-0) got its first conference win of the year with a 4-1 victory over UW-Superior (1-4-0, 1-1-0) on Saturday.
Kendall Rykkeli (Anoka, Minn./Anoka) scored her first career goal at 3:17 of the first period to put the Pointers in front.
Alyssa Yokom (Hermantown, Minn./Hermantown) and
Maddie Andrle (Blaine, Minn./Blaine) had assists on Rykkeli's goal.
The Yellowjackets pulled even at 6:09 of the first period and the game was tied at 1-1 at the first intermission.
Natalie Ahern (Byron, Minn./Byron) scored her first goal of the game at 14:23 of the second period, the eventual game-winner.
Molly Pohlkamp (Baxter, Minn./Brainerd) had the lone assist on the goal.
In the third period, Ahern scored again at 14:55 with a power-play tally to push the lead to 3-1. Yokom notched her second assist of the game and
Abby Skelly (Grand Rapids, Minn./Grand Rapids) added an assist on the play.
Yokom racked up her season-best third point of the game with an empty-net goal with 39.5 seconds left in the game.

Anne Beck (Grandville, Mich./Grandville) made 33 saves to earn the win. UWS goaltender Maddie Wostrel had 36 saves.
The Pointers return to action on Dec. 4 with a 7:00 p.m. home matchup against UW-Eau Claire.
