EAU CLAIRE, Wis.—The UW-Stevens Point men's and women's cross country teams competed in the NCAA Regionals in Eau Claire, Wis., where the men finished second out of a 31-team field and the women placed seventh out of a 30-team field.
Results
Mateo Alvarado-Venegas crossed the line first for the Pointers at 25:18.5 to take 16th.
Logan Murphy (Sheboygan Falls, Wis./Sheboygan Falls) finished three spots behind with a time of 25:24.0.
Mike Brown (Butternut, Wis./Butternut) took 22
nd with a time of 25:30.8 and
Martin Kimmel (Deerfield, Wis./Deerfield) finished just under three seconds behind to take 24
th.
Malachi Kurth (Slinger, Wis./Slinger) rounded out the Pointers' scoring, finishing 29
th with a time of 25:37.3.
Brooklyn Hoff (Menomonie, Wis./Menomonie) was the first Pointer to cross the line at 22:45.3 to take 23
rd.
Meg McAfee (Shawnee, Kan./Mill Valley) and
Lauren Sadowski (Marinette, Wis./Marinette) finished back-to-back with times of 23:38.3 and 23:38.9, respectively, to take 52
nd and 53
rd.
Lindsey Jossie (Pulaski, Wis./Pulaski) and
Makaela Malin (Monticello, Minn./St. Michael, Albertville) wrapped up the Pointers' scoring with times of 23:58.6 and 24:04.8.
The Pointers await an NCAA at-large bid, to be announced Sunday (Nov. 16) at 2:00 p.m.
