STEVENS POINT, Wis. – UW-Stevens Point head men's wrestling coach
Johnny Johnson has announced the elevation of former national champion Logan Hermsen to head assistant coach.
"Logan brings a wealth of knowledge to the Pointers' room and will help extensively with technique, training, and recruiting," said Johnson. "The Pointers are excited to have Logan in a prominent position for the program."
Hermsen has been a part of the Pointers' coaching staff for the past five seasons. He had coaching stints at SUNY-Cortland and Concordia (Wis.) before returning to his alma mater.
On the mat, Hermsen is one of the most accomplished wrestlers in UWSP history. A two-time NCAA Division III Champion (2016 & 2017), Hermsen amassed 107 career wins for the Pointers. He was voted the WIAC Wrestler of the Year in 2016 and was a WIAC Champion in 2017 with a 35-2 record which is fourth best all-time at UWSP.
Hermsen graduated from UWSP in 2018 with a degree in health science. He and his wife, Taylor, live in Stevens Point.
