MONTGOMERY, Ala. – The UW-Stevens Point men's wrestling team went 3-1 on Friday at the Hawk Classic Duals. The Pointers defeated Montreat College by a 49-3 final, Truett-McConnell University by a 37-9 score and host Huntingdon College, 36-13. UWSP fell to first-place finisher Lindsey Wilson College, 28-20.

Josh Heuss (Antigo, Wis./Antigo) and
Logan Neitzel (Lomira, Wis./Lomira) all earned wins by fall.
Easton Hull (Waupun, Wis./Waupun) and
Carson Trotzer (Weston, Wis./D.C. Everest) won by tech fall and
Blake Flach (Shell Lake, Wis./Shell Lake) won a 5-0 decision.
Heuss, Trotzer and Neitzel pinned their opponents in the dual versus TMU. Rye won by tech fall while
Blaze Thurber (Nekoosa, Wis./Nekoosa) and Aidan Fonder won by major decision. Flach and Hull won by decision.
In the win over HC, Thurber, Heuss and Trotzer earned wins by fall. Flach and Hull won by tech fall. Fonder and Neitzel earned major decision wins.
Thornberry and Neitzel got wins by fall against LWC. Hull won by tech fall and Heuss picked up a win by decision.
The Pointers return to action in Alabama on Saturday (Jan. 4) for the Hawk Classic. Action gets underway at 10:00 a.m.
