OSHKOSH, Wis. – The No. 19 UW-Stevens Point softball team (32-7) saw its run at the WIAC Tournament (presented by Culver's) as the Pointers fell to No. 12 UW-Oshkosh (39-3) by a 5-1 final.
Rachel Baker (Richmond, Ill./Richmond-Burton Community) had two hits and drove in only run of the game for UWSP.
Sara Traxel (Oak Creek, Wis./Oak Creek) also had two hits as the duo had four of UWSP's five hits on the day.
The Titans got on the board in the first. A hit batters scored on a two-out double as the Pointers trailed, 1-0, after one.
UWO added four runs in the third on five hits to put UWSP in a 5-0 hole.
Jesse Klicker (Spring Grove, Ill/Richmond-Burton Community) drew a leadoff walk in the sixth for the Pointers.
Kaitlyn Roberts (Yorkville, Ill./Yorkville) was hit by a pitch. A fielder's choice put runners on corners with one away. Baker followed with an RBI infield single to get UWSP on the board.
Morgan Harwood (Neenah, Wis./Neenah) went 2.1 in the start. She struck out five.
Ashley Zygowski (Saukville, Wis./Port Washington) pitched the final 3.2 frames with six strikeouts.
