ADRIAN, Mich. – The No. 6 UW-Stevens Point men's hockey team (21-6-2) conceded a goal just 93 seconds in and fell at No. 4 Adrian (23-6-1) by a 4-0 final in the first round of the NCAA Tournament on Saturday.
It took Adrian just 1:33 into the game to put the Pointers in a 1-0 hole. It was the Bulldogs' fourth shot on goal early.
Adrian doubled its lead at 12:42 of the first period. The Pointers had tested AC goaltender Dershahn Stewart with eight shots to no avail.

Alex Proctor (Allen, Texas) kept UWSP close with 12 saves in the first period.
The Bulldogs took advantage of their first power play with a goal at 3:22 of the second period on the man-advantage. Proctor had eight more saves to keep the deficit to 3-0 heading to the third.
Proctor made another eight saves in the third period to keep AC from adding on to its lead. UWSP fired 13 shots on Stewart in the third, but couldn't get one by him in the end.
The Bulldogs added an empty-net goal late to finish the scoring. Proctor finished the night with 28 saves and so did Stewart.
David Hill (Glen Mills, Pa.) and
Conor Witherspoon (Metamora, Mich.) led the Pointers with 11 combined shots on goal.
The Pointers made their 17th appearance in the NCAA Tournament this season. UWSP finishes with 21 wins, the eighth time in the last 10 seasons with at least 20 victories.
