STEVENS POINT, Wis. – The UW-Stevens Point men's wrestling team is sending six wrestlers through to day two of the Upper Midwest Regionals.
Results
Trystan Altensey (Port Byron, Ill./Riverdale) advanced to the semifinals at 184 with two first-period wins by fall.
Luca Paladino (Oak Creek, Wis./Oak Creek) moved on to Saturday's semifinals at 125 with a 2-0 day on Friday. He earned an 11-0 major decision win in his opening match. In the quarterfinals, he earned a 6-1 sudden victory.

Carson Trotzer (Weston, Wis./D.C. Everest) won three times and will continue on Saturday in consolation bracket. He won by tech fall, 17-1, and fall in the championship bracket. Then in the consolation bracket, he earned another win by fall.
Logan Nietzel won three times in the 197 bracket. He won by fall and by a 7-1 decision. Then in the consolation bracket, he advanced to Saturday with an 8-1 decision.
Riese Thornberry (Germantown, Wis./Germantown) won twice in the 149 bracket and remains alive in the consolation bracket. He won his opening match by tech fall, 16-0. Then in the consolation bracket, he advanced with a first-period win by fall.
Blake Flach (Shell Lake, Wis./Shell Lake) stayed alive with a pair of wins in the consolation bracket at 285. He won by fall and then by decision, 14-10.
Easton Hull (Waupun, Wis./Waupun) earned a pair of wins in the consolation bracket at 157. He won by sudden victory, 9-6, and by fall.
Blaze Thurber (Nekoosa, Wis./Nekoosa) earned one win by fall in the consolation bracket at 133.
Josh Heuss (Antigo, Wis./Antigo) earned a major decision, 12-1, win in the consolation bracket at 165.
