RIVER FALLS, Wis. – The UW-Stevens Point women's hockey team (8-18-2) held a lead at No. 1 UW-River Falls (27-0-0), but fell in game two of the WIAC Tournament semifinals (presented by Culver's) by a 5-1 final.
Courtney Leising (Maple Grove, Minn./Maple Grove) gave the Pointers a 1-0 lead at 7:08 of the first period. Her goal was assisted on by
Tara Rigan (Lindenhurst, Ill./Lakes Community) and
Alyssa Yokom (Hermantown, Minn./Hermantown).
The Pointers held the lead until the 15:31 mark of the second period. It was the longest time on the season that the Falcons had trailed.
UWRF took control in the third period with goals at 4:19 and 4:55 to take a 3-1 lead. The Falcons added two more goals in the period to secure the win.

Anne Beck (Grandville, Mich./Grandville) made 54 saves in the game. She had 23 in the first period while holding UWRF off the board. Jordan O'Connor made 15 saves for the Falcons.
The Pointers reached the semifinal round again, the 11th-straight time. Leising led the Pointers in scoring with 13 goals and seven assists.
