PLATTEVILLE, Wis. – The UW-Stevens Point men's wrestling team finished fourth at the WIAC Championships (presented by Culver's) on Saturday.
 
Results
 
Luca Paladino (Oak Creek, Wis./Oak Creek) placed second in the 125 bracket. He won by major decision in his first match, 16-5. Then he won back-to-back decisions, 5-4 and 6-4 to reach the finals. He narrowly lost by an 8-6 decision.
 
Trystan Altensey (Port Byron, Ill./Riverdale) podiumed in fourth in the 184 bracket. He won two matches on the day, both by fall.
 
Josh Heuss (Antigo, Wis./Antigo) finished fourth in the 165 bracket. He won his opening match by decision, 8-1. He picked up another win by decision, 2-0, in the consolation bracket.
 
Logan Neitzel (Lomira, Wis./Lomira) placed fifth in the 197 bracket. He won a major decision, 10-1, and a sudden victory, 10-7, in the consolation bracket.
 
Riese Thornberry (Germantown, Wis./Germantown) took sixth in the 149 bracket. He earned one win by fall in the consolation bracket.
 
Carson Trotzer (Weston, Wis./D.C. Everest) earned a win by fall in the 174 bracket and finished sixth. Bryce Buchanan (Onalaska, Wis./Onalaska) won a match by injury default in the consolation bracket.
 
Cooper Peterson (Cannon Falls, Minn./Cannon Falls) won his first match in the 141 bracket by tech fall, 17-1, and placed sixth. Blake Flach (Shell Lake, Wis./Shell Lake) won a 7-1 decision in the consolation bracket at 285 to take sixth.
 
Aiden Fonder (Kimberly, Wis./Kimberly) won an 8-1 decision in his first match in the 125 bracket.   
 
The Pointers will host the Upper Midwest Regionals on March 1 and 2 in Quandt Fieldhouse. Action begins on March 1 at 12:00 p.m.
